The St. Martin Family Charitable Corporation was originally founded as The Paul St. Martin Charitable Corporation in 2009 in memory of Paul St. Martin. Following the death of Paul’s brother, John, in 2012, the corporation was renamed to be in John’s memory, too.
Honest, hardworking and open-minded,he had an upbeat can-do attitude.
His perpetual smile and intellectual
acuity will be missed by us all.
Despite his small stature, the impact Paul St. Martin had on those around him was immense. He was a loving husband, father, brother, cousin, and friend to all, finding the greatest joy in helping those in need. Devoted to success, he was President of The Allan Hackel Organization, which he joined in 1985. He received a Masters from Northeastern University in Massachusetts after graduating from Harvard College and attending Boston Latin High School. A member of a men's over-40 basketball team until his death, Paul was a sports fanatic who loved Boston sports. Paul's greatest accomplishment was the family he left behind, his loving wife and three children who today carry on his legacy.
An avid runner, Paul ran through the streets of Newton Center in Massachusetts every morning before starting his workday. His life came to a sudden and tragic end the morning of March 6, 2002 after suffering a heart attack on his run.
We hope Paul's life will remind all that life is precious and the best one can do is to bring joy and inspiration to those around them.
John St. Martin was a man with a big heart, a quick wit, and a strong work ethic who loved his family deeply and left an impact on so many people throughout his life. He grew up in the Boston neighborhood of Hyde Park, and went on to attend Boston Latin School, Harvard University, and the Amos Tuck School of Business. For many years he worked as the benefits manager at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. His family included his wife, three children, and his brothers, cousins, and many other family members, many of whom live in the Boston area. In addition to his family, he enjoyed many passions. He loved rooting for Boston sports teams and was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, serving in several important roles. Later in life, he found great enjoyment in community theatre and performed in many shows, where he made many new friends.
He died the morning of July 3, 2012, one month after suffering a heart attack shortly after finishing a community theatre performance. We will always keep him in our memories.
